Abstract

Tulisan ini dirangkai demi menelusuri gereja dan pendidikan rohani melalui kajian teologis 1 Timotius 4:7-8 terhadap pengembangan kehidupan rohani jemaat. Gereja merupakan tempat dimana jemaat orang percaya membangun kehidupan spiritualnya. Gereja dan pendidikan rohani memiliki keterkaitan satu dengan yang lain. Pendidikan rohani memfasilitasi pengembangan kehidupan keimanan jemaat dalam hubungannya dengan Tuhan. 1 timotius 4:7-8 merupakan dasar yang tepat untuk membangun kedisiplinan ibadah yang adalah pendidikan rohani di dalam gereja. 1 Timotius 4:7-8 memberikan penegasan tentang urgensi ibadah sebagai sarana untuk meningkatkan kesalehan demi merespon kondisi sosial pada saat itu. Ibadah memberikan penguatan moral sehingga jemaat Kristen awal memiliki integritas dalam menghadapi kehidupan yang serba immoral. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan studi pustaka, penulis mencoba menelusuri kajian teologis 1 Timotius 4:7-8 dalam hubungannya dengan gereja dan pendiidkan rohani. Penulis menyatakan bahwa kajian teologis 1 Timotius 4:7-8 menegaskan bahwa gereja dan pendidikan rohani berperan penting dalam pengembangan kehidupan rohani jemaat.
